Recognize the Signs of Sleep Apnea

Small nighttime symptoms can have a big impact on your daily life and long-term health. Many people assume poor sleep, loud snoring, or constant fatigue are simply part of getting older. In reality, these issues may point to an underlying sleep breathing disorder. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM), Dr. Sailaja Reddy has advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-disordered breathing, helping patients find effective, personalized solutions that improve both sleep and overall health.

Snoring is Affecting My Relationship

If your partner has brought up their concern over your loud snoring, take the time to talk to a sleep expert. Persistent snoring can be more than just a nighttime annoyance—it may be a sign of an underlying sleep disorder such as obstructive sleep apnea. Left untreated, it can affect your health, energy levels, and even your relationship. A sleep evaluation can help identify the cause of your snoring and provide personalized treatment options, allowing both you and your partner to enjoy quieter nights and more restful sleep.

I Wake Up Tired After Rest

If you find that you’re tired well before lunchtime, it could be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Even if you think you’ve slept through the night, repeated interruptions in your breathing can prevent your body from getting the deep, restorative sleep it needs. As a result, you may wake up feeling exhausted, struggle to concentrate during the day, or rely on caffeine to stay alert. A sleep evaluation can help determine whether OSA is the cause and guide you toward effective treatment so you can wake up feeling refreshed, energized, and ready for the day.

I Need an Alternative to CPAP

For some people, CPAP therapy just is not a suitable option. It can be too uncomfortable, and the noise or bulky equipment may make it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Fortunately, CPAP isn’t the only solution for treating sleep apnea. Depending on the cause and severity of your condition, alternative treatments such as oral appliance therapy, lifestyle changes, or other advanced options may provide effective relief. A sleep specialist can help you explore the best treatment for your needs, so you can sleep comfortably and wake up feeling refreshed.
